president obama today sat down with law enforcement officers from three communities, rocked by recent mass shootings. mr. obama meeting with police chiefs from more than a dozen communities, including aurora, colorado. hope creek, wisconsin and newtown connecticut asking them to help him in his efforts to convince congress to pass gun control legislation. but there are new concerns that the president may be deploying other tactics to get what he wants, including federal agencies to push his anti-assault weapons agenda. this just days after we learned that his former chief of staff now chicago mayor, rahm emanuel, may be getting some federal help in his efforts to pressure private banks that do business with america's gun industry. jay sekulow is the chief counsel for american law and justice. the news that rahm emanuel is now reaching out to big banks, bank of america, td bank, directly and pressuring them not to do business with some of our largest gun manufacturers. here is my question to you, you've got a public official interfering with private contractual rights between these entities

conduct. the obama administration, like the bush administration, stomped down these lawsuits and day won. they got most of these lawsuits dismissed. it was a massacre. some of these losses were getting to a point where we could have had a fantastic ruling. the courts would finally acknowledge standing and say you cannot violate the privacy of citizens and president obama and his administration blocked it. we have seen that throughout the four years of the obama administration. there's a disconnect between what obama says publicly and what he actually does in court. gay-rights is a good example. at thesident's inauguration is not the present we see in court. for the early part of his term, he was in court fighting to protect oma and don't ask, don't tell, . he still has not been willing to support that view so there is a disconnect. public-interest litigator is like myself, this is an extremely hostile administration. there is no change between this administration and bush. this administration has been more successful in that sense. host: let's go to louisville, kentucky, independent line

a great night. ♪ lou: >> a very good evening. i'm lori rothman. the obama -- obama economy heading a stumbling block, suffering its first decline since the end of the recession. the government cutting spending and u.s. businesses trying down inventories in the fourth quarter causing the economy to contract for the first time in more than three years. u.s. gross domestic product falling a rate of a tenth of a percent, that is the worst performance since the second quarter of 2009. this is growing at a 3% clip in the third quarter of last year. the federal reserve today saying that growth has stalled, but telling the public temporary, pledging to continue with the easy money policy into the outlook for employment improved substantially, the news coming as somewhat of late surprised as economists predicted. the economy hit with super storm sandy in late october causing extensive damage along the east coast, seen as a major factor. economists see the same growth in excess of 3 percent will be needed to significantly lower unemployment and get at least some of the 23 million unemployed
